JOSEPH BRISENO JR. & FAMILY - Joseph Briseno Jr. was shot in the back of the head at point-blank range in a Baghdad marketplace. His spinal cord was shattered, and cardiac arrests stole his vision and damaged his brain. He is one of the most severely injured soldiers — some think the most injured soldier — to survive. FRIENDS OF PENN STATE ABINGTON ROTC SCHOLARSHIP FUND - Paul always jumped at the chance to help train ROTC cadets at the various colleges in the Philadelphia area. Cadets at Penn State Abington experienced his mentorship prior to his deployment to Iraq. The Friends of Penn State Abington ROTC created a scholarship endowment to help these cadets. Quote from the Friends of Penn State Abington "Please bear in mind that our country is very much in need of well-trained military leaders in these critical times and for the foreseeable future. Your contribution is an investment in the training of tomorrow’s leaders and our national security."

What does the Foundation Do?
The MSG Paul Karpowich Foundation was incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, on 7 June 2005. Our mission is to honor Paul's memory and hopefully continue to influence the world the way he did. Proceeds raised from all events, fundraisers and donations are given in Paul's name to several worthwhile causes he was involved in.

The Karp Memorial Footmarch
For the first 5 years of our existence, the Foundation held a fund raising event each fall named the MGS Paul Karpowich Memorial Footmarch, or simply the "KarpMFM."
